Join us for a very special Chinese banquet dinner event as we celebrate these authors' contributions and achievements in the Chinese Canadian literary community.

Roy Mah - the founder and publisher of Chinatown News, Canada's longest running English language news magazine for the Chinese Community. A long time community activist with a long public service record, Roy Mah will be presented with the inaugural ACWW Community Builder's Award.

Wayson Choy - author of The Jade Peony, winner of the Trillium Book Prize and the inaugural book of One Book One Vancouver, by the Vancouver Public Library. His autobiography, Paper Shadows won the Edna Staebler Award for Creative Nonfiction and was short-listed for the Govenor General's Book Award for nonfiction.

Paul Yee - author and the inaugural winner of the Vancouver Book Prize for Salt Water City, an Illustrated History of the Chinese in Vancouver, and the Governor General's Award for Children's Literature (1996) for Ghost Train.

Proceeds from the dinner will go to support the ACWW Emerging Writer's Award, and other ACWW members' activities, community and educational programs. ACWW memberships and Ricepaper Magazine subscriptions will be offered at a special one-time 50% off discount rate in celebration of our evening's event.
